Job Posting – Caseworker/ Front Desk Assistant
The office of Terry Duguid, Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Case Worker/ Front Desk Assistant for the Winnipeg South Constituency Office.
Responsibilities
• Work on behalf of Winnipeg South constituents in need of support from various government programs (Immigration, Student Loans, CRA, EI, OAS, CPP) on a case by case basis (casework) including detailed tracking of case files through contact database software.
• Assist in ensuring that the constituency office is accessible to constituents though regular and consistent hours of operation, answering phone calls, e-mails and other correspondence.
• Deal with daily queries from members of the public by phone and email, and taking appropriate initial action to resolve, document or escalate their concerns or enquiries.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant guidelines/legislation as appropriate in dealing with casework matters.
• Assist with other duties as required.
Qualifications
• Completion of post-secondary education in political science, or a related field; related work experience will be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the Winnipeg South riding and key stakeholders is an asset.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload & have empathy with others in difficult situations.
The Caseworker/Front Desk Assistant is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work is required on occasion. Compensation is dependent on qualifications and experience.
