As Manitoba battles the third wave of Covid-19, our federal government is here to help. Recently, the Prime Minister spoke with both Premier Pallister and Mayor Bowman regarding Covid-19 cases in our province. The Premier requested additional supports for Manitoba.
In response to the Request for Federal Assistance, the federal government will be deploying medical and health care staff, as well as support through the Canadian Armed Forces for vaccine administration in Indigenous communities. We will be providing an additional 50 staff, for a total of up to 120 employees to help with contact tracing, as well as 12 critical care nurses to help in our hospitals.
Since the outset of the pandemic, the Government of Canada has responded to all 17 Requests for Federal Assistance from Manitoba. Our National Emergency Strategic Stockpile has allocated over 37 million units of personal protective gear, vaccine supplies as well as medical equipment, including gloves, disposable gowns, face shields, N95 respirators and masks.

The federal government also continues to provide Covid-19 vaccine deliveries to the province, so that they can administer them to Manitobans. To date, the federal government has delivered 871,180 to Manitoba, with more on the way. All Manitobans ages 12+ are now eligible to book their vaccine appointments online at https://patient.petalmd.com/login?groupId=6032&locale=en or by phone at 1-844-626-8222.
