Wishing everyone a Happy Manitoba Day! On May 12, 1870, under the leadership of Louis Riel and his provisional government, the Manitoba Act was passed in the Parliament of Canada, bringing our province into confederation.
In recognition of Manitoba Day, the Royal Canadian Mint has released a re-created 1970 Manitoba Centennial nickel dollar coin. You can learn more about this special coin, here: bit.ly/33hqCDT
As we celebrate this important occasion, I am so proud to be a Manitoban and live in our strong, diverse province.
And while we spend this Manitoba Day apart, let’s all get vaccinated so we can spend our next anniversary together!
