I was honoured to be re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South this past October. It has been a privilege to represent this diverse riding since 2015, and I am incredibly grateful to the people of Winnipeg South for putting your trust in me once again to be your Member of Parliament. I would also like to thank my family, my incredible campaign team and volunteers, many of whom knocked on doors through rain, sleet and snow.
Over the past four years, I have been listening to Winnipeg South residents at the doors and at events. Community members are concerned about the state of our health care, improving roads and public transit, fighting climate change, supporting seniors, and growing our economy. I am committed to ensuring that the federal government moves forward on our local needs.
One of my top priorities is the development of the South Winnipeg Recreation Campus, which will provide much-needed recreational facilities for our growing community in south Winnipeg. I will continue to work with community leaders and all levels of government to make sure that this important project comes to fruition.
This December, community centres in south Winnipeg will host Pancake Breakfasts with Santa, as well as other winter celebrations, and I look forward to seeing many of you and your families at these events.
